Devops For Dummies by Emily Freeman (2019)
Book proposes that the biggest challenge facing software engineers are not technical, but rather, of human nature and origin. Book goes into the culture and reasoning for implementing DevOps but is sparse on practical suggestions for tools, frameworks or processes. The Sparta (startup) vs Mongols (mid-side/scale-up) vs Roman (enterprise) analogy was a useful reference model for organisational operating models. A very basic (Dummies Guide) introduction to DevOps – might be useful for execs but not for engineers/technologists. Rating (1/5).
